DOS SOLOS JUNTOS: DOLOROSA & FLORNECIA
Dos Solos Juntos: Dolorosa & Flornecia arises from the process of corporal and scenic investigation of LaCerda around the practice of ritual and the concept of identity, starting from the roots and biographical events of its members. More than a duo, it is a double performance comprising two solos, two characters that are part of LaCerda`s artistic universe.
The project aims to offer a retrospective diptych of the company, on the one hand, and to go deeper into the thematic and methodological issues that run through its work and trajectory, on the other.
Dolorosa, created and performed by Johann Perez, is born from the inquisitive looks triggered by his "mariqueas" as a child in Venezuela. In the solo, the performer works on the relationship between repression, sexuality, salvation, religion and punishment, building a rebellious body full of contradictions that travels in the course of the religious procession.
Flornecia is a solo performed by Edward Tamayo that arises from the disappearance of his brother in Colombia. In this piece the performer delves into the incarnation of the demons themselves, beings that share the same origin and piece of land, and how the darkness of these demons dances through the body, with pleasure, danger and cruelty, including and accepting it.
